Listening to Indigenous Voices to Support Indigenous Peoples

Indigenous people make up just 0.5% of Toronto’s population but account for 15% of its homeless community. Na-Me-Res (Native Men’s Residence) is working to change this through housing, outreach, and culturally responsive healthcare. They’ve expanded services like Auduzhe Mino Nesewinong, an Indigenous-led health initiative. However, challenges remain, including the urgent need for more affordable housing and culturally safe healthcare.
